Year Of No Light & Thisquietarmy: Split
17/12/12 || Cobal
What we’ve got here is a split album in which two bands that I’m totally unfamiliar with deploy a bizarre mix of drone and ambient music with some metal hints here and there. Even though I wouldn’t ever say there’s no musicianship going on here, what I didn’t quite get is what these Francs are aiming; the music is exactly what you’re imagining minimalistic chords holding that create ethereal atmospheres for about 45 minutes… and that’s that. Yes, I could totally stand it all at once, and I even enjoyed it at times. Sorry, but still not good enough.
5/10: Not bad, but I don’t think I’ll be able to remember it. Remember what?
After going thru that crap, you most likely wanna read something way more interesting. You do, admit it.
